Welcome to a blog about my version of the three R’s; Reading, Writing, and Running! These are things that are important to who I am and what I enjoy. They are synergistic, reinforcing each other by providing new perspectives for each other.
The 26 Miles of Books blog was originally started in 2012 as part of a fundraiser for the Le Sueur Public Library (seen below). The economy was hard on library budgets that year and I did a fundraiser in conjunction with my running of the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, DC. I’m happy to be bringing the blog back in its updated form. Occasionally I will repost items from that original blog that I think are relevant or interesting. And wouldn’t you know it, there is a new fundraiser going on in conjunction with a book I’ve written called Crow’s Gambit.
In this blog I will talk about the races I’m signing up for and the training I’m doing. Every year my race calendar includes several obstacle races (e.g. Tough Mudder and Spartan Race) and a couple trail Ultra Marathons. I’ll talk about the books I’m reading, spanning nonfiction and fiction. And I’ll share information on my new endeavors with fiction writing. Along the way I hope to provide some entertaining and useful information.
